Overview
The Project Assistant will support and contribute to the coordination, implementation, and monitoring of a regional program focused on planning for inclusive education.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the overall coordination, management, implementation, and monitoring of the regional program.
- Assist in the elaboration, monitoring, and updating of the program's activity calendar.
- Provide administrative services, including organizing meetings, taking notes, and drafting minutes.
- Maintain a directory of partner names and contacts.
- Support communication with program focal points, partner ministries, and partners.
- Translate various texts, including correspondence, brief documents, and PowerPoint presentations.
- Support the filing and archiving of program documents.
- Assist in organizing and conducting workshops, meetings, and events, both in-person and online.
- Support the follow-up of action points from meetings.
- Assist in the logistical and technical preparation of field missions.
- Support the finalization of steering committee meeting documentation.
- Assist in anticipating, identifying, and mitigating risks to work implementation.
- Support the implementation of strategies to ensure production quality.
- Contribute to the implementation and monitoring of the program's monitoring-evaluation and capitalization approach.
- Support data collection and analysis, including developing and administering questionnaires.
- Support report writing.
- Support the definition and application of corrective measures.
- Support the implementation and monitoring of Component 1 of the program, specifically the training on "Foundations of Education Sector Planning for the Inclusion of Persons with Disabilities".
- Support the coordination of the training, including liaison with the course team and quality control of messages in French.
- Support the enrollment and effective participation of participants in Cohort 3 of the training.
- Facilitate participants' access to the training platform.
- Support the effective participation of participants with disabilities in Cohort 3.
- Document support provided to participants with disabilities.
- Support the implementation of Component 2 of the program, specifically the management of the Community of Practice on Education Sector Planning for the Inclusion of Persons with Disabilities (COP-DIESP).
- Support the recruitment of CoP members.
- Support the preparation, organization, and conduct of online events (webinars, learning labs).
- Support the configuration and administration of Zoom.
- Provide general housekeeping for online sessions.
- Support the curation of documents and content for the community of practice platform.
- Support the animation of the CoP.
- Support the implementation of Components 3 and 4 of the program in Senegal, Sierra Leone, and Guinea-Bissau.
- Support the staff of IIEP-UNESCO in Africa as needed.
Required Experience
Minimum 3 years of experience in project management, administrative and logistical coordination. Experience in organizing events (workshops, webinars, field missions).
Qualifications
Technical or professional secondary school diploma.
