Overview
The Communication Assistant will support the implementation of the country communication strategy by managing social media, developing content, and coordinating with media and technical teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with project personnel and government counterparts for communication business.
- Support in managing social media channels, including content drafting, publishing, and performance analytics.
- Develop and produce high-quality content (text and audio-visual) for various communication channels.
- Coordinate with technical teams to create informative and engaging materials.
- Assist in managing relationships with local and international media.
- Monitor media coverage and prepare daily press clippings.
- Support in organizing press conferences, briefings, and media visits.
- Develop communication campaigns and mark national and international days.
- Facilitate the dissemination of key messages to FAO staff.
- Assist in organizing internal and external events and workshops.
- Provide communication support for FAO events.
- Capture and disseminate outcomes from events.
- Monitor the impact of communication activities and report on KPIs.
- Provide recommendations for improving communication strategies.
Required Experience
A minimum of 3 years of experience in communications, preferably within the food security, agriculture, and climate change sectors.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in mass communication, Media Technology, Journalism, Public Relations or related field.
