Overview

Supports the administration and coordination of travel activities, focusing on travel programme reporting and data management, system testing and development, and ensuring official travel complies with policies.


Key Responsibilities
  • Supports compliance with travel policy and monitors exceptions.
  • Provides guidance on travel policy and systems to users.
  • Contributes to oversight and reporting on the global travel programme.
  • Generates and verifies travel data reports.
  • Identifies and implements solutions for reporting and monitoring improvements.
  • Drafts reports and correspondence on travel programme activities.
  • Oversees maintenance of travel databases and records.
  • Investigates technical issues in travel systems and drafts requirements for resolution.
  • Co-ordinates and conducts travel system quality assurance and testing.
  • Participates in capacity building and training on travel administration.
  • Proposes changes to increase efficiency and minimize risk.
  • Verifies and supervises processing of invoices from travel service suppliers.
  • Extracts and produces travel management information reports and programme analysis.
  • Develops and enhances data visualization, reporting, and monitoring capabilities.
  • Supports development of new travel practices and systems.
  • Provides guidance on resolving complex system issues.
  • Advises staff on travel policies, entitlements, and procedures.
  • Ensures adherence to UN travel policies and procedures.
Required Experience

Three years of relevant experience in travel systems or programme management, including data reporting and analysis, administration of travel management systems and compliance with UN or international travel policies and procedures. Work experience in more than one location or area of work, particularly in field positions. Extent and relevance of experience in administering corporate or organizational travel processes, Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) or operational systems. Extent and relevance of experience and knowledge in data management, including data generation and analysis.

Qualifications

Advanced university degree (Master's degree or equivalent) in business administration, public administration, data analytics and management, economics, law or other relevant field OR A first-level university degree in combination with two additional years of relevant experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree.

Languages Required
Working knowledge (proficiency - level C) of English and intermediate knowledge (intermediate proficiency - level B) of another FAO official language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian or Spanish).
Languages Preferred
Working knowledge (proficiency - level C) of another FAO official language is considered an asset. Specialized training and/or certification in travel management is desirable.
Contract Duration
Fixed-term: two years with possibility of extension
