Overview

The Programme Specialist, Gender Statistics is responsible for providing technical advice and programmatic management for the Women Count Project in Palestine, contributing to the generation and use of gender statistics to inform policies and programmes.


Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop programme strategies in Gender Statistics.
  • Manage the implementation and management of the Women Count Project.
  • Manage technical assistance and capacity development to Women Count partners.
  • Manage the monitoring and reporting of the Women Count Project.
  • Build partnerships and support in developing resource mobilization strategies.
  • Contribute to inter-agency coordination on Gender Statistics.
  • Manage advocacy, knowledge building and communication efforts.
  • Perform other duties as needed.
Required Experience

At least 5 years of progressively responsible work experience at the national or international level in design, planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of development projects is required. Experience in statistics is required. Experience in Gender Statistics is desirable. Experience in leading and coaching staff is desirable. Experience in the usage of computers and office software packages (MS Word, Excel, etc.) and spreadsheet and database packages, experience in handling of web-based management systems is required. Experience in using statistical software (SPSS, STATA, etc.) is desirable. Experience in coordinating and liaising with government agencies and/or donors is desirable. Experience working in the UN System is desirable. Experience in the use of a modern web-based ERP System, preferably Oracle Cloud, is desirable.

Qualifications

Master’s degree or equivalent in Statistics, Economics, Demography, social sciences, or a related field is required. A first-level university degree in combination with two additional years of qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree. A project/programme management certification would be an added advantage.
