Overview
The Environmental Analyst will perform tasks to ensure compliance with standards, procedures, and regulations for various economic activities and the implementation of environmental best practices. The role involves designing, formulating, and implementing environmental monitoring, surveillance, and control programs.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as team leader for technicians and consultants, ensuring timely and quality delivery of reports and documents.
- Design and maintain a registry of economic and productive activities in the Canal Watershed.
- Evaluate and establish monitoring systems for significant environmental aspects and impacts.
- Propose and advise on the development of norms and guidelines for environmental best practices.
- Propose, design, and implement procedures for environmental monitoring and follow-up.
- Formulate, direct, and conduct field studies and evaluations related to third-party activities.
- Propose, design, and implement environmental monitoring, surveillance, and control programs.
- Conduct analyses and reports on actions affecting natural resources and water resources.
- Evaluate and follow up on the implementation of environmental prevention and mitigation measures.
- Conduct studies and reports on the state of natural resource conservation.
- Develop and implement awareness programs for various stakeholders.
- Coordinate and participate in meetings and events with institutions and communities.
Required Experience
- Master's degree with no experience required, or Bachelor's degree in related areas with 2 years of relevant work experience.
- Experience coordinating or leading work teams.
- Experience in project management.
- Experience in environmental diagnostics, monitoring, and/or impact assessments.
- Experience in preparing technical reports related to natural resource conservation/protection, environmental management, or watershed management.
- Experience in analyzing and interpreting environmental norms and policies.
- Experience working with interdisciplinary teams.
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Teams, PowerPoint), Zoom, OneDrive, SharePoint.
- Must possess a valid driver's license and experience driving 4x4 vehicles in difficult terrain.
- Must know how to swim.
- Availability for work in difficult-to-access areas requiring walking, horseback riding, and travel by canoe or motorboat.
Qualifications
- Master's degree or equivalent in Environmental Management, Environmental Engineering, Environmental Impact Management, or related environmental fields.
- Alternatively, a Bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering, Environmental Sciences, Biological Sciences, Chemistry, Natural Resource Management, Agronomy, or related engineering/bachelor's degrees with two additional years of relevant experience.
