Overview
The Community Engagement Specialist will ensure effective engagement of programme stakeholders and support programmatic communications for the Mine Action programme in Ukraine.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the implementation of the Mine Action programme's internal communications plan.
- Translate complex technical information into accessible content for farmers and local stakeholders.
- Develop outreach materials and serve as the primary point of coordination with the FAO Ukraine Communications Unit.
- Develop community engagement sessions using behaviour change communication principles.
- Support procurement activities as outlined in the MA 2026 Communications Plan.
- Support field coordination and community mobilization for ARM-led farming community surveys.
- Provide ad-hoc translation and interpretation support where operationally required.
- Maintain a liaison relationship with the FAO Ukraine Communications Unit.
- Provide logistical and coordination support for project activities.
- Document community feedback, concerns, and lessons learned.
- Support the drafting of project progress and donor reports.
- Contribute to beneficiary data collection and verification.
- Provide project-level implementation updates and community engagement data.
- Maintain good understanding of contractual commitments.
- Perform any other related duties as required.
Required Experience
At least three (3) years of relevant professional experience in programme communications, community engagement, behaviour change communication, or supporting implementation of development or humanitarian projects.
Qualifications
University degree in Communications, Journalism, Development Studies, Rural Development, Agriculture, Social Sciences, or a related technical field relevant to community engagement and programme communications.
