Overview

The Young Professional Officer (Programme Support) assists and supports the development, implementation, and monitoring of assigned projects, partnership development, and outreach efforts within the Joint FAO/IAEA Centre of Nuclear Techniques in Food and Agriculture.


Key Responsibilities
  • Analyses technical social, economic, environmental, and technology information, data and/or statistics.
  • Maintains records and updates databases and web pages.
  • Provides technical support to various projects.
  • Collaborates in the development of training tools and materials and the organization of workshops/seminars.
  • Participates in the organization and follow-up of meetings, consultations and conferences.
  • Assists in the drafting of project proposals, including data collection, progress monitoring and reporting.
  • Supports partnership development and resource mobilization activities.
  • Contributes to the development of communication materials and presentations.
  • Supports the organization and delivery of events.
  • Assists and supports financial planning and implementation by monitoring expenditure and preparing financial analyses.
  • Supports the coordination and review of travel plans and meeting plans.
  • Monitors quality checks for all documentation.
Required Experience

One year of relevant experience in budget and project planning, project coordination and monitoring, and outreach activities, including at international level.

Qualifications

Advanced university degree (Master's degree or equivalent) in business administration, accounting or finance, social science, international relations or a closely related field.

Other Details
Languages Required
Working knowledge (proficiency - level C) of English and intermediate knowledge (intermediate proficiency - level B) of another FAO official language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian or Spanish).
Languages Preferred
Work experience in more than one location or area of work, particularly in field positions is desirable. Experience in partnership development and resource mobilization is an asset. Proven analytical skills and handling a large set of data is an asset.
Contract Duration
Fixed-term: two years with possibility of extension
