Overview

The Advocacy and Outreach Analyst will support the design and implementation of UNDP’s advocacy and communication strategies, and plan and implement outreach campaigns and public engagement initiatives.


Key Responsibilities
  • Support the design and implementation of advocacy and communication strategies aligned with UNDP priorities.
  • Develop key messages, talking points, briefing notes, and advocacy materials.
  • Produce high-quality communication outputs, including stories, press releases, social media content, and multimedia products.
  • Ensure consistent branding and visibility in line with UNDP corporate guidelines.
  • Monitor media coverage and provide analysis to inform communication strategies.
  • Plan and implement outreach campaigns, events, and public engagement initiatives at national and sub-national levels.
  • Coordinate workshops, forums, and dialogues to promote UNDP’s work and foster collaboration.
  • Strengthen relationships with communities, youth groups, and other target audiences.
  • Support innovative outreach approaches, including digital campaigns and knowledge-sharing platforms.
  • Identify and map key stakeholders, including government, donors, private sector, NGOs, and academia.
  • Support the development and maintenance of strategic partnerships to advance programme objectives.
  • Facilitate engagement with partners through meetings, events, and joint initiatives.
  • Contribute to resource mobilization efforts by supporting donor outreach and proposal development.
  • Prepare partnership briefs and background materials for senior management engagement.
  • Document lessons learned, best practices, and success stories from programme implementation.
  • Support preparation of reports, donor updates, and communication products highlighting results and impact.
  • Maintain databases of partners, stakeholders, and outreach activities.
Required Experience

A minimum of 2 years (with a master’s degree) or 4 years (with a bachelor’s degree) of relevant professional experience in communications, advocacy, partnership, or outreach is required. Experience in the use of computers and office software packages (MS Word, Excel, etc.) and advanced knowledge of web-based management systems such as ERP; Desired Skills: Experience in stakeholder coordination and partnership building with government counterparts, UN agencies, and donor organizations; Experience in digital marketing, social media management, campaign development, branding, and event coordination; Demonstrated ability to produce, edit, and tailor high-quality reports, briefs, and outreach materials for various platforms; Previous experience with UN agencies or development organizations.

Qualifications

Advanced university degree (master’s degree or equivalent) in Communications, Public Relations, International Development, Political Science, or related fields; or A first-level university degree (bachelor’s degree) in the areas mentioned above in combination with an additional two years of qualifying experience will be given due consideration in lieu of the advanced university degree.
