Overview

This internship supports the Communications and Events teams within the UNEP Finance Initiative (UNEP FI), focusing on raising awareness and promoting sustainable finance.


Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with writing, editing, and designing communication content including newsletters, social media, event announcements, and web content.
  • Manage UNEP FI website updates and content development.
  • Monitor web and social media analytics, presenting findings and actionable takeaways.
  • Assist with social media outreach and create proposals for social media campaigns.
  • Coordinate day-to-day events, particularly for the UNEP FI Regional Roundtables 2027.
  • Provide communications support for virtual events and webinars.
  • Track media coverage of UNEP FI and its alliances or initiatives.
Required Experience

Applicants to the UN Internship Programme are not required to have professional work experience. A field of study that is closely related to the type of internship that you are applying for is required.

Qualifications

Applicants must be enrolled in a graduate school program (second university degree or equivalent, or higher), or enrolled in the final academic year of a first university degree program (minimum Bachelor's level or equivalent), or have graduated with a university degree and commence the internship within one year of graduation. Recent undergraduate or recent master’s degree graduate in international policy, communications, journalism, environmental studies, development studies, economics, business administration, finance, ideally with some experience in communications through internships or extracurricular activities.

Fluency in oral and written English is required.

Knowledge of another UN Language is desirable.

Remuneration
Interns are not financially remunerated by the United Nations. Costs and arrangements for travel, visas, accommodation and living expenses are the responsibility of interns or their sponsoring institutions.
