Overview

The Programme Analyst will support the implementation of projects and their activities, ensuring good execution of the work programme. The role involves project planning, risk management, strategic guidance, partnership development, and knowledge management.


Key Responsibilities
  • Support project follow-up and implementation.
  • Assist in reviewing work plans and progress reports.
  • Collaborate with project coordinators on activity planning and implementation.
  • Perform technical, administrative, and management tasks for projects.
  • Provide support for project document lifecycle management and archiving.
  • Support anticipation and mitigation of project risks.
  • Provide inputs for identifying and addressing project risks.
  • Ensure technical activities align with quality expectations.
  • Support project teams in adhering to operational procedures and regulations.
  • Provide strategic guidance on localizing international development agendas.
  • Offer technical advice and support for project activities.
  • Support operational linkages across programmes.
  • Support identification, proposal, and follow-up of strategic partnerships.
  • Attend meetings and conferences to strengthen UN-Habitat's presence.
  • Represent UN-Habitat in technical events and forums.
  • Provide guidance for systematization and exchange of best practices.
  • Document meetings, forums, consultations, and training events.
  • Prepare reports for partners and internal stakeholders.
  • Undertake other responsibilities within the incumbent's expertise.
  • Perform additional tasks as requested by the supervisor.
  • Complete indicated courses and training activities.
  • Comply with United Nations security mechanisms.
Required Experience

Minimum of four (4) years of progressively responsible professional experience in project/programme management on themes related to urban, sustainable or social development in Brazil is required. Professional experience with urban planning and management, public policies, public administration, or international cooperation is required. Professional experience with digital tools, software, online platforms, databases or data visualization and analysis tools is desirable. Previous experience within the UN System is desirable.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Public Administration, International Relations, Social Sciences, Architecture and Urbanism, Geography, Economics or related fields is required, or additional five (5) years of relevant experience to the post, beyond the requirement. Postgraduate degree (Lato Sensu or Stricto Sensu) in Project Management, Urban Studies, Public Administration, Public Policy, Data Science, Information Technology or related fields is desirable.

Fluency in Portuguese and English is required.

Working knowledge of Spanish is desirable.
