Overview

Support IMEO's work in strategy development, government engagement on technical topics, partner coordination, and delivery of priority initiatives.


Key Responsibilities
  • Develop strategy for stakeholder engagement with target countries in Africa for MARS, including liaising with focal points, responding to stakeholder requests, and contributing to the strategic vision in the region
  • Conduct technical engagement with key stakeholders on behalf of IMEO’s Nigeria Methane Emissions Reduction Pilot Programme
  • Coordinate and deliver trainings to government and NOC stakeholders, including acting as main focal point for technical experts providing support on delivering training content
  • Identify needs for new training content and support the development of technical training material to address stakeholder needs
  • Develop material to provide technical information to countries on methane emissions opportunities, including memos, briefing notes, presentations, etc.
  • Maintain updated information and tracking on ongoing engagements with government and other related experts stakeholders, and develop and share updates on country efforts as necessary
  • Conduct research and analysis as needed regarding country-level methane opportunities, challenges, and priorities
  • Draft and issue notifications to government and company stakeholders on major methane emission events for the oil and gas sector in Europe, ensuring their timely delivery.
  • Attend meetings, workshops, events, etc. and support drafting of meeting summaries and action items, including tracking follow-up activities
  • Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure alignment of ongoing in-country activities
Required Experience

A minimum of four years of relevant professional experience in environmental, climate or methane policy, or a related field is required. Experience coordinating across cross-functional technical, data, engagement and communications teams is required. Experience with satellite-based methane monitoring is desirable. Experience designing, documenting, streamlining or automating operational processes is desirable.

Qualifications

Masters or Equivalent in environmental policy, management, law, political science, environmental studies, sustainability, environmental or climate policy or a related field.
