Overview

The role provides senior-level advisory support to strengthen strategic positioning, programme pipelines, and institutional engagement for UNOPS SEEMCO, aiming to identify and advance growth opportunities.


Key Responsibilities
  • Provide strategic advice on programme positioning, portfolio development, and engagement with various institutions.
  • Support the identification and advancement of opportunities for portfolio expansion and diversification.
  • Analyze trends to identify emerging priorities, potential partnerships, and programming opportunities.
  • Advise on strategic approaches for positioning UNOPS services.
  • Contribute to programme and project formulation by providing strategic and technical inputs.
  • Facilitate institutional dialogue and strengthen relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Provide expert guidance on aligning programme concepts with partner priorities.
  • Support the preparation of strategic engagement plans and partnership approaches.
  • Advise on leveraging UNOPS expertise to support partner objectives.
  • Contribute to negotiations and discussions related to prospective engagements.
  • Prepare, review, and assure quality of strategic documents, proposals, and reports.
  • Provide strategic advice throughout programme identification and development processes.
  • Develop analyses and recommendations for management decision-making.
  • Represent SEEMCO during consultations and meetings with development partners.
  • Deliver knowledge-sharing activities and capacity strengthening support for SEEMCO personnel.
Required Experience

Advanced university degree with 7 years of relevant experience, OR First level university degree with 9 years of relevant working experience, OR Secondary school diploma with 13 years of relevant working experience. Relevant work experience in partnership development and resource mobilisation. Minimum 2 years of experience in leadership or key expert positions.

Qualifications

Advanced university degree (Master’s or equivalent) in Public Affairs, International Relations, Law, Social Science, Communications, Politics or other relevant fields. OR First level university degree. OR Secondary school diploma.
