Overview

This role focuses on leading and implementing water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH) strategies and programs to improve access to safe water and sanitation practices. It involves ensuring alignment with national policies, donor priorities, and organizational initiatives, as well as contributing to advocacy and cross-functional collaboration.


Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the achievement of improved access to safe water and enhanced sanitation and hygiene practices.
  • Ensure awareness of government policies, donor priorities, and organizational approaches in WASH.
  • Facilitate advocacy at local and national levels for WASH objectives.
  • Integrate WASH into development programs and align with high-level initiatives.
  • Ensure cross-functional collaboration with other sectors.
  • Oversee the development of a quality culture and implementation of action plans.
  • Lead monitoring and evaluation of WASH programs and projects.
  • Track faithful implementation of WASH approaches by staff and partners.
  • Develop or adapt diagnostic, analysis, and reporting tools.
  • Develop innovative approaches for monitoring project performance.
  • Aggregate, process, and analyze WASH data for programming, advocacy, and decision-making.
  • Communicate program quality issues to management.
  • Submit monthly, semi-annual, and annual program reports, as well as quarterly project reports.
  • Ensure clear and accurate reporting to donors.
  • Contribute to annual reports with WASH data and information.
  • Provide technical support to WASH program staff through training and resources.
  • Facilitate the introduction and adoption of innovative practices in WASH programs.
  • Identify new training needs in WASH and integrate them into training plans.
  • Establish strategic contacts with potential donors and partners for WASH project funding.
  • Maintain an update on donor and partner priorities and interventions in WASH.
  • Contribute to the identification, evaluation, and design of grant proposals.
  • Design and implement a pre-positioning plan with key WASH donors.
  • Ensure technical standards in WASH grant projects meet or exceed donor expectations.
  • Represent World Vision Niger at WASH agency and partner meetings.
  • Ensure WASH facilitators and managers participate in regional WASH working group meetings.
  • Support the creation or strengthening of strategic partnerships for sustainable WASH service access.
Required Experience

5 to 10 years of professional experience in a WASH program/project.

Qualifications

Master's degree in Hydraulics, Hydrogeology, Civil Engineering, Sanitary Engineering, or related discipline.
