Overview
The Senior WASH Manager will play a leading role in achieving improved access to safe drinking water and improved sanitation and hygiene practices in Niger. This role involves ensuring knowledge of government and donor priorities, facilitating advocacy, and integrating WASH into development programs.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the monitoring and evaluation of the NI-WASH program and related WASH projects.
- Develop or adapt diagnostic, analysis, and reporting tools for WASH projects.
- Aggregate, process, and analyze WASH data at the national level.
- Submit monthly, semi-annual, and annual program reports, as well as quarterly project reports.
- Provide clear and accurate reports to donors.
- Contribute to World Vision Niger's annual reports with WASH data.
- Provide regular technical support to WASH program field staff through training and resources.
- Facilitate the introduction and adoption of innovative practices in WASH programs.
- Identify new training needs in water, hygiene, and sanitation.
- Establish strategic contacts with potential donors and partners for WASH project funding.
- Update donor and partner priorities and interventions in the WASH sector.
- Contribute to the identification, evaluation, and design of grant proposals.
- Design and implement a pre-positioning plan with key WASH sector donors.
- Ensure technical standards in WASH grant projects meet or exceed donor expectations.
- Represent World Vision Niger at the UN agencies and partners WASH group.
- Ensure WASH facilitators and project managers participate in regional WASH working group meetings.
Required Experience
5 to 10 years of professional experience in a WASH program/project.
Qualifications
Master's degree in Hydraulics, Hydrogeology, Civil Engineering, Sanitary Engineering, or a related discipline.
