Overview

The Movement Control Assistant is responsible for receiving and supporting cargo movement requests, assisting with passenger and crew boarding/deplaning, and fulfilling baggage handler duties. The role serves as a focal point at the Aeropuerto Internacional de Las Americas (AILA) and the MovCon and Logistics team.


Key Responsibilities
  • Arrange passenger and cargo load plans.
  • Coordinate travel of civilians and military personnel.
  • Coordinate daily operations of administrative and loading staff.
  • Ensure dangerous goods are transported in accordance with international regulations.
  • Liaise with port authorities and local authorities on travel, immigration, and customs.
  • Prepare movement orders, collect movement information, and define requirements.
  • Coordinate and register cargo movement requests for air/ground transportation.
  • Oversee cargo and passenger manifests, waivers, and other documentation.
  • Arrange customs clearance and related documentation.
  • Coordinate and assist in receiving VIP passengers.
  • Inform appropriate consignees on delivery of items.
  • Coordinate onboarding and deplaning of passengers and crew, adhering to safety procedures.
  • Check in passengers, including manifest confirmation, baggage identification and weighing, waiver signing, and boarding pass distribution.
  • Coordinate with airfield and air terminal security.
  • Fulfill duties of a passenger baggage handler.
  • Review, prioritize, and monitor movement requests.
  • Resolve operational issues related to cargo, passenger movements, customs, flight schedules, and documentation.
  • Perform travel-related duties.
Required Experience

A minimum of seven (07) years of progressively responsible experience in movement control or airport operations related services or general experience in the field of passenger management and customer services, transport logistics, travel related or logistic fields or administration is required. Experience working in a United Nations common system field or other similar international organization is desirable. Experience in the use of Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Microsoft Teams is desirable.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent is required. Valid driver license is required.

Contract Duration
The position is available through 30 June 2027 subject to extension.
