Overview

This internship supports the implementation and coordination of programme activities, assisting with document drafting, communication efforts, and event organization.


Key Responsibilities
  • Support programme implementation and coordination.
  • Assist in drafting, editing, and reviewing official correspondence, reports, briefing notes, presentations, meeting minutes, and donor reporting.
  • Contribute to programme communication and visibility efforts.
  • Support coordination and communication with national counterparts, government authorities, implementing partners, civil society organizations, and community-based organizations.
  • Assist in the organization of meetings, workshops, training activities, field missions, and other programme events.
  • Provide administrative and operational support.
  • Perform other assigned duties.
Required Experience

Applicants to the UN Internship Programme are not required to have professional work experience. However, a field of study that is closely related to the type of internship that you are applying for is required.

Qualifications

HS Diploma; Applicants must meet one of the following requirements: (a) Be enrolled in, or have completed, a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher); (b) Be enrolled in, or have completed, the final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum bachelor’s degree or equivalent). Proficiency in standard computer applications, including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and online collaboration tools. Have a demonstrated keen interest in the work of the United Nations and have a personal commitment to the ideals of the Charter. Have a demonstrated ability to successfully interact with individuals of different cultural backgrounds and beliefs.

Languages Required
Fluency in spoken and written English is required for the internship.
Languages Preferred
Fluent in spoken and written in the Lao language is desirable. Knowledge of additional languages is an asset.

Remuneration
This internship is UNPAID, and interns work five days per week (full time – 40 hours). Interns are not financially remunerated by the United Nations. Costs and arrangements for travel, visas, accommodation and living expenses are the responsibility of interns or their sponsoring institutions.
