Overview

The Senior Information Management Associate will lead, coordinate, and supervise information management activities for the Guyana Country Office, including database activities, data collection, analysis, reporting, and dissemination.


Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and coordinate information management activities for rapid assessments, mobility tracking, registration support, and needs assessments.
  • Plan, organize, and supervise the development and implementation of data collection tools, reporting templates, databases, standard operating procedures, and information management workflows.
  • Supervise and provide technical guidance to field teams, enumerators, and colleagues involved in data collection, management, analysis, visualization, and reporting.
  • Coordinate the work of IM and ICT team members, ensuring timely task allocation, follow-up, consolidation of inputs, and delivery of outputs.
  • Oversee quality assurance processes for data, tables, charts, maps, dashboards, and written products.
  • Compile and analyse information on affected populations, displacement, mobility, return intentions, temporary shelters, priority needs, available services, and response gaps.
  • Prepare and review information products such as dashboards, maps, factsheets, situation updates, briefing notes, presentations, and other materials.
  • Coordinate information flows and technical inputs among field teams, programme units, IM colleagues, communications teams, regional and global technical teams, authorities, and humanitarian partners.
  • Represent or support the representation of the IM function in coordination meetings, donor updates, government briefings, and inter-agency processes.
  • Keep datasets, tools, reports, and final products organized and secure, in line with IOM standards on data protection and confidentiality.
  • Identify information gaps and suggest follow-up assessments or additional analysis based on response needs.
  • Perform other relevant duties as may be assigned.
Required Experience

Experience in information management activities for rapid assessments, mobility tracking, registration support, needs assessments, and related data collection exercises. Experience in data collection, data management, analysis, visualization, and reporting. Experience in quality assurance processes for data, tables, charts, maps, dashboards, and written products. Experience in compiling and analysing information on affected populations, displacement, mobility, return intentions, temporary shelters, priority needs, available services, and response gaps. Experience in preparing and reviewing information products such as dashboards, maps, factsheets, situation updates, briefing notes, presentations, and other materials. Experience in coordinating information flows and technical inputs among field teams, programme units, IM colleagues, communications teams, regional and global technical teams, authorities, and humanitarian partners. Experience in representing or supporting the representation of the IM function in coordination meetings, donor updates, government briefings, and inter-agency processes. Experience in keeping datasets, tools, reports, and final products organized and secure, in line with IOM standards on data protection and confidentiality. Experience in identifying information gaps and suggesting follow-up assessments or additional analysis based on response needs.

Fluency in English is required (oral and written).
Languages Preferred
Working knowledge of Spanish, French or another UN official language is an advantage.
