Overview
The Caseworker – Protection will support programmes assisting Beneficiaries of Temporary Protection (BOTP) in Ireland, focusing on individuals facing barriers to independence in state accommodation settings.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the implementation and monitoring of project activities.
- Retrieve, compile, summarise, analyse, and present information/data on specific project topics.
- Support the Senior Protection Associate with the development and implementation of the Protection strategy.
- Conduct comprehensive vulnerability screenings of BOTP’s.
- Utilise the Programme Standard Operating Procedures’ (SOP) to Support BOTP in state accommodation.
- Coordinate with assigned focal points at State Accommodation Centres.
- Disseminate key and accurate information to BOTP and referring cases with identified vulnerabilities.
- Provide translation and interpretation services, as necessary.
- Draft status reports, identify shortfalls, and suggest remedial actions.
- Draft correspondence on project issues; prepare and update reports, briefing notes, graphics, statistical tables, presentation and other forms of documentation.
- Respond to complex information requests and inquiries; set up and maintain files/records; organise meetings, workshops and training sessions.
- Participate in meetings and conferences; assist in coordinating implementation activities with local authorities, partners, United Nation (UN) agencies, intergovernmental and non-governmental organisations, donors and other stakeholders.
- Assist in monitoring work of Implementing Partners (IP) and report non-compliances to the supervisor.
- Perform such other relevant duties as maybe assigned.
Required Experience
- Bachelor’s degree with three years of relevant professional experience; or, High School diploma with five years of relevant professional experience.
- Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, PowerPoint.
- Good knowledge of information technology and proficiency in Microsoft Office applications especially Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Publisher.
- Experience in working with migrants, refugees, internally displaced persons, victims of trafficking and other vulnerable groups.
- Prior work experience with international humanitarian organisations, non-government or government institutions/organisation in a multi-cultural setting is an advantage.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Political or Social Sciences, International Relations, Development Studies, Migration Studies, Human Rights, Law or a related field from an accredited academic institution; or, High School diploma.
