Overview

The Site Supervisor Assistant will support the monitoring of housing and infrastructure projects, repairs, and rehabilitations of damaged buildings. The role involves coordinating with colleagues, partners, and municipalities, and may support construction activities for other programmes.


Key Responsibilities
  • Monitor construction activities and contractors continuously on-site, track progress against work plans and budgets, and report potential delays.
  • Assist in conducting quality control and document progress of works on-site, reporting changes and corrections.
  • Assist in conducting technical assessments of damaged buildings and engineering networks.
  • Assist in drafting Bills of Quantities and Bills of Materials.
  • Assist regarding coordination with the Supply Chain Unit on procurement processes.
  • Support the consideration and integration of Housing, Land and Property (HLP) issues.
  • Update programme trackers related to cost, schedule, quality and Health and Safety (H&S).
  • Review the completeness and correctness of as-built documentation.
  • Monitor construction activities to ensure strict compliance with donors' Health and Safety (H&S) measures.
  • Compile inputs for project reports and maintain proper project filing.
  • Adhere to IOM's policy on the Prevention of Sexual Exploitation and Abuse (PSEA).
  • Participate in coordination meetings with external stakeholders.
  • Ensure proper filing of documents.
Required Experience

7 years of proven experience supporting construction or rehabilitation projects, including site monitoring, documentation, coordination with contractors and reporting. 7 years of experience working as site engineer/foreman/construction site manager on civil/rehabilitation/external engineering networks construction sites. Experience in liaising with governmental authorities, national and international institutions, United Nations agencies, and non-governmental organizations. Experience in working with migrants, refugees, internally displaced persons, victims of trafficking, and other vulnerable groups. Experience working with a non-governmental organization and/or international organization is an advantage. Familiarity with construction Health & Safety practices. Knowledge of applicable Ukrainian building codes, policies, standards, and best practices. A sound and up-to-date knowledge of local construction techniques and materials.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in civil engineering/construction management or other related fields from an accredited academic institution with at least four years of relevant professional experience. High School Diploma/Certificate with at least 7 years of professional work experience.

Remuneration
Volunteer Living Allowance (VLA): USD $ 2,616 (equivalent in UAH) is provided monthly. USD 350 entry lump sum, one-time payment. Medical and life insurance. Annual leave, Learning leave, Certified Sick Leave, Uncertified Sick Leave.
