Overview
Provide interpretation services for the Jarai language to support UNHCR's operations in Thailand. The role involves translating documents and interpreting during interviews, sessions, and briefings.
Key Responsibilities
- Translate accurately and professionally documents from Jarai to English and vice versa for Registration, Refugee Status Determination, Resettlement, Community Services, and Protection purposes.
- Interpret during Registration/Refugee Status Determination/Resettlement/Community Services/Protection interviews and counselling sessions.
- Interpret in the context of Protection information sessions, briefings, and training.
- Interpret telephone inquiries from asylum-seekers/refugees.
- Report to the Supervisor on each call received for database recording.
- Perform other interpretation and translation functions as requested.
Required Experience
- Prior experience in interpretation/translation is desirable.
- 1 year relevant experience with High School Diploma; or Bachelor or equivalent or higher.
Qualifications
• Business Administration Secretarial Certificates and/or Licenses.
