Overview
To provide efficient and safe transportation of authorized personnel and/or commodities and deliver a limited number of routine business support tasks, to ensure that staff are effectively supported for the office.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide transportation of authorized personnel and/or delivery of items/commodities.
- Meet personnel and visitors at the airport or other entry points and provide basic assistance.
- Maintain vehicle log books and report on mechanical status.
- Ensure assigned vehicle is clean, in good condition, and equipped.
- Follow established rules and regulations for field deliveries and report accidents.
- Collect, sort and disseminate correspondence, reports and other materials.
- Respond to simple routine queries and escalate where appropriate.
- Support the maintenance of office files, documents and records.
- Perform basic office related tasks such as filing, photocopying, mailing service, payment errands and office set-up.
- Undertake standard data entry tasks.
- Support the Unit's emergency response activities and deploy to affected countries as required.
- Work beyond regular working hours to support emergency response efforts.
Required Experience
Two or more years of work experience as a Driver, preferably in an international organization, embassy or UN system with a demonstrated safe driving record. Experience in driving a variety of makes and models of vehicles, including vans, trucks and other kinds of motorised vehicles. Experience in defensive driving is desirable.
Qualifications
Completion of secondary school education. Formal drivers training with a valid driver’s license/certification to operate assigned vehicle following local rules and regulations.
