Overview
The role serves as a liaison for the NDC Partnership in the country, facilitating support and coordination between the country and other NDC Partnership members. The primary function is coordination and facilitation to ensure the smooth implementation of the country engagement process.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure communication of NDC Partnership engagement to relevant stakeholders.
- Facilitate coordination and information exchange among country partners.
- Organize meetings to monitor and coordinate Implementation Plan execution.
- Manage and update the Implementation Plan in the online tool.
- Identify implementation and development partners and track their contributions.
- Develop an annual work plan with specific objectives.
- Support government and stakeholders in decision-making processes.
- Monitor and mobilize partner funding to address support gaps.
- Update government needs and priorities for NDC implementation.
- Prepare quarterly country update reports.
- Evaluate progress and recommend adjustments.
- Facilitate national dialogues on NDCs.
- Support preparation for NDC-related events.
Required Experience
- At least 5 years of experience in the public and/or private sector focusing on climate change, project management, stakeholder and donor engagement, and/or transversal work plan preparation/proposal development.
- Experience in governance and multilateral, national, and grassroots processes related to climate change, policies, and/or Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs).
- Knowledge of the country context regarding policy frameworks, national plans, and strategies related to climate change.
Qualifications
- Master's degree or equivalent in public policy, development, climate change, natural resource management, environmental management, or any other relevant field, with five years of relevant experience.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent with 2 additional years of experience (a total of 7 years of relevant work experience may be accepted in lieu of a university degree).
