Overview

The IAEA is seeking a data science and analytics intern to support the Safeguards Division of Information Management. The intern will gain practical work experience and contribute to the development of data science solutions.


Key Responsibilities
  • Building rapid prototypes and proof of concepts to determine fit and usability
  • Continuously improving machine learning models, including but not limited to text and image analysis, classification, similarity search, and named entity recognition
  • Interacting with business users to define the scope and business case
  • Developing and applying technologies such as machine learning, and deep learning algorithms to enable advanced analytics product functionality
  • Identifying valuable data sources and improve efficiency in collection, processing and analysis tasks
Required Experience
  • Demonstrated skills in analytic language Python
  • Experience in machine learning methodologies (e.g. supervised and unsupervised learning, deep learning etc.) and understanding of large language model and multimodal model concepts
  • Knowledge of popular machine learning libraries and frameworks, such as PyTorch, Transformers, and Hugging Face
Qualifications

University degree in data science, computer science with a relevant specialization, or a related field such as applied mathematics, statistics or computational science.
