Overview
Provide technical assistance to national health authorities for the implementation of programs and initiatives related to health promotion, prevention, and control of communicable and non-communicable diseases.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide technical assistance to national health authorities for the implementation of programs and initiatives related to health promotion, prevention, and control of communicable and non-communicable diseases.
- Ensure advocacy and provide technical assistance to projects financed by the European Union, the Global Fund, Global, GAVI and other donors.
- Provide technical assistance to the Ministry of Public Health (MINSAP) and other health sector institutions for updating diagnostic algorithms, therapeutic protocols, patient management, risk factor identification, and disease control methods.
- Collaborate on initiatives and promote health promotion, surveillance, prevention, and control of communicable and non-communicable diseases.
- Promote collaboration between MINSAP and academic institutions and other relevant sectors.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of prevention and health service delivery programs for communicable and non-communicable disease control.
- Develop criteria, guidelines, and standard operating procedures (SOPs) for the organization, execution, and evaluation of programmatic activities.
- Collaborate in the application of epidemiological concepts, principles, and methods for disease surveillance, prevention, and control programs.
- Provide technical advice for the management of health information systems.
- Analyze, organize, and disseminate evidence-based scientific and technical information and knowledge.
- Promote and coordinate research on communicable and non-communicable diseases.
- Collaborate in the preparation of the Biennial Programme Budget (PB) of the Representation and monitor its execution.
- Set clear work objectives for supervised staff, monitor performance, provide coaching and feedback, and support staff development.
Required Experience
At least five years of progressive experience in field epidemiology and public health program control, or in the administration of health services related to disease control, health analysis, and statistics. Desirable: Practical experience in the managerial and administrative aspects of disease prevention and control programs/public health programs.
Qualifications
Essential: University degree at the Bachelor's level in a health-related discipline from a recognized University. Desirable: Master's degree in Public Health; epidemiology, or another related field from a recognized University.
