Overview

The Procurement Analyst will support participant local and regional governments to improve their PPPs efficiency to align and deliver on Agenda 2030 and will facilitate learning and knowledge generation among municipalities and UNDP country offices around the world.


Key Responsibilities
  • - Elaborate and manage implementation of innovative and sustainable procurement strategies and policies.
  • - Manage and guide procurement processes for the Business Unit, projects, and other UN Agencies.
  • - Introduce and implement strategic sourcing strategy and e-procurement tools.
  • - Facilitates procurement knowledge building and knowledge sharing in the Business Unit, CO, Region, UNDP and UN.
  • - Performs other duties within their functional profile.
Required Experience
  • Minimum 2 years (with Master´s degree) or 4 years (with Bachelor´s degree) of working experience with public administrations, preferably at national level in issues related to service provision, public management and finance or public policy.
  • Experience in the usage of computers and office software packages (MS Word, Excel, etc.) is required.
  • Working experience with UN/UNDP desired.
  • Proven professional experience focusing on client management and working with a diverse team will be an asset.
  • Understanding of UNDP rules and procedures or experience of completing UN assignments will be an asset.
  • Proven experience in working with local governments and their associations will be an asset.
  • Proven professional experience on use of results monitoring and reporting tools will be an asset.
Qualifications
  • Advanced University degree (Master´s Degree or equivalent) in Economics, Business, Law, Public Administration, Political Science, Urban Planning, International Development or related field is required.
  • A first-level university degree (Bachelor’s degree) in the above fields in combination with additional 2 years of qualifying experience will be given due consideration in lieu of the advanced university degree.
  • CIPS level 3 is highly desirable for this position.
