Overview

The National Project Coordinator will lead the development of Belize’s green and blue Industrial Policy, including policy instruments, implementation plan, and an M&E framework. The role involves coordinating activities, conducting analysis, and supporting the Project Manager.


Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the development of Belize’s green and blue Industrial Policy, including attendant policy instruments and policy implementation plan, and an M&E framework with pertinent KPIs.
  • Coordinate the execution of all activities leading to the successful drafting of the industrial policy for Belize, including quality control and monitoring.
  • Conduct economic and industrial sector analysis to inform policy recommendations.
  • Support the UNIDO Project Manager in the recruitment of a national analytical policy support team.
  • Supervise a team of policy analysts/research assistants.
  • Coordinate the organization and contribute to stakeholder consultations.
  • Prepare reports and technical documentation related to the development process of the green and blue industrial policy.
  • Contribute to dissemination of project activities.
  • Liaise with the project counterpart on matters related to day-to-day project activities in the country.
  • Conduct other activities as requested and in coordination with the Project Manager.
Required Experience
  • At least seven (7) years of professional experience in coordinating the implementation of development/technical cooperation programmes/projects/policy formulation, is required.
  • Strong understanding of Belize’s economic structure, productive sectors, and policy environment or similar country in the region is required.
  • Experience in evidence-based analysis, industrial policy, or sector development is required.
  • Experience in policy formulation is required.
  • Proven ability to coordinate teams and manage policy research processes is desirable.
  • Experience/knowledge of other development agencies donor communities, private sectors, government and relevant institutions in the country, or similar country in the region is desirable.
Qualifications

Advanced university degree (maste's degree or equivalent) in economics, development studies, public policy, or other relevant discipline is required.
