Overview

Review and oversee the procurement of goods and services, ensuring timely and cost-effective provision for programme implementation and emergency operations.


Key Responsibilities
  • Review requests for procurement of goods and decide on the best procurement modality.
  • Ensure oversight and internal control of procurement of goods in the PSS unit.
  • Review and monitor the preparation and distribution of invitations for bids (IFBs) and requests for quotation (RFQs).
  • Analyze offers and make recommendations on awards to the Contracts Committee.
  • Monitor the updating of the list of suppliers and ensure suppliers' performance evaluations.
  • Identify new technologies and products, evaluate and recommend potential supply sources.
  • Formulate and design innovative solutions for complex procurement of goods.
  • Supervise various procurement activities, including preparing, assigning work, approving leave, and reviewing contractual documents.
Required Experience

A minimum of five years' experience, with international exposure working in the area of procurement services, and logistics services for a programme.

Qualifications

Essential: First university degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, Management, or related field. Desirable: An advanced university degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, Management, or related field.

Remuneration
Annual base salary starting at USD 71,335 (subject to mandatory deductions for pension contributions and health insurance, as applicable), a variable post adjustment, which reflects the cost of living in a particular duty station, and currently amounts to USD 1492 per month. Other benefits include 30 days of annual leave, allowances for dependent family members, home leave, and an education grant for dependent children.
