Overview
The Finance Associate will provide finance support services to the mission's activities, ensuring adherence to IOM accounting rules and procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Review and verify supporting documents for all payment requests.
- Ascertain that equipment, supplies and services are delivered before payments.
- Review all types of payments for authorization and supporting documents.
- Ensure travel claims comply with IOM travel guidelines.
- Enter transactions in WAVE and apply proper cost distribution.
- Update relevant units on WBLs.
- Participate in improving internal controls and finance service efficiency.
- Prepare weekly payment schedules.
- Carry out weekly operational advance calculations and coordinate requests.
- Perform operational advance cash payments to beneficiaries.
- Carry out weekly cash counts and prepare payment documents.
- Verify operational advance expenditure documentation compliance.
- Assist in preparing financial and statistical reports.
- Ensure compliance with IOM finance policies and procedures.
Required Experience
- Knowledge in financial and cash handling task.
- Familiar with excel spreadsheets, work processing and other computer tools.
Qualifications
- University degree in preferably Accounting, Commerce or in a related field from an accredited academic institution, with three years of relevant professional experience.
- Completed High school degree from an accredited academic institution, with five years of relevant professional experience.
