Overview

The ICT Officer will supervise and coordinate Information Technology and Communications (ICT) operations in the Country Office, ensuring timely and accurate provision of ICT solutions and services.


Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise and coordinate ICT Unit activities.
  • Liaise with CO management and field operations for ICT solutions.
  • Act as ICT business relationship and cybersecurity local liaison.
  • Provide technical support and train the CO’s ICT Team.
  • Contribute to CO’s ICT documentation, including SOPs, Business Continuity Plan, and Disaster Recovery Plans.
  • Contribute to service improvement assessments and provide recommendations.
  • Maintain and check technical specifications for ICT procurement.
  • Liaise with CO’s Supply Chain Unit on ICT provision.
  • Act as the Focal Point for cybersecurity defense and incident response.
Required Experience
  • Two years of relevant professional experience with a Master’s degree; or four years of relevant professional experience with a University degree.
  • Experience in overseeing and managing the implementation and administration of Microsoft Windows and serverless network environments (LAN/WAN) and first-level network/desktop support in a large international organization.
  • Experience in a supervisory role and management of ICT functions in an international organization or an international agency in a field location, supporting emergency, complex/post-conflict Country Office.
  • Experience in planning, design, development, implementation, and maintenance of computer information systems.
  • Knowledge and demonstrated experience in cybersecurity compliance and security implementation and maintenance, database information systems and data processing tools.
  • Knowledge of web-based development and other development tools and reporting.
  • Good knowledge and experience in Microsoft 365 cloud-based applications and technologies.
  • Experience providing policy advice to senior managers on systems development.
Qualifications
  • Master’s degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Information Management, Information Technology, or a related field from an accredited academic institution; or University degree in the above fields.
  • Certificate in any of the following: Cisco Certified Network Associates (CCNA), Microsoft Azure certifications, Microsoft Certified System Administrator (MCSA), Microsoft Certified Database Administrator (MCDBA), Microsoft Certified System Engineer (MCSE), is a distinct advantage.

Fluency in English and French is required (oral and written).
Languages Preferred
Working knowledge of another official UN language (Arabic, Chinese, Russian and Spanish) is an advantage.
Contract Duration
