Overview

The role involves overseeing and undertaking capacity development support in real sector statistics across seven countries and regional agencies. The purpose is to provide technical assistance and training in areas such as national accounts and price statistics.


Key Responsibilities
  • Develop an annual work program and manage support on statistical capacity development in national accounts, price indices, and other real sector statistics.
  • Coordinate CD activities with relevant IMF Departments and other international institutions.
  • Conduct country technical assistance missions and provide regional training.
  • Manage and backstop missions by short-term experts.
  • Apply IMF standards and policies in documenting CD activities.
  • Monitor the implementation and evaluation of CD activities.
  • Contribute to reports for the CDOT Advisory Committee and other publications.
Required Experience

Proven expertise in national accounts methodology and compilation, demonstrated by at least ten years of relevant professional experience. Experience in at least one of the following macroeconomic statistics frameworks: balance of payments/international investment position statistics, government finance and public sector debt statistics, or monetary and finance statistics is considered an asset.

Qualifications

An advanced degree (Masters’ or PhD) in economics, statistics, or related field.
