Overview
The role supports the implementation of integrated health and nutrition brigades in Guatemala, focusing on nutritional assessments, health promotion, and data management.
Key Responsibilities
- Participate in planning and coordinating brigade activities.
- Identify and engage community leaders and actors.
- Coordinate actions with local authorities and key stakeholders.
- Conduct nutritional assessments for children under five, adolescents, pregnant and lactating women.
- Collaborate in comprehensive maternal care actions.
- Review child health cards and provide counseling.
- Administer micronutrient supplementation and deworming.
- Provide counseling on feeding, care, health, and disease prevention.
- Reinforce health and nutrition practices.
- Safeguard and manage brigade equipment and supplies.
- Maintain updated records and enter data into WFP platforms.
- Prepare monthly reports on activities, coverage, results, and findings.
Required Experience
- 6 months of general experience.
- Experience in comprehensive health and nutrition education.
- Desirable: Experience in emergency nutrition and food and nutrition security.
- Desirable: Knowledge of MSPAS care standards and official registration instruments (SIGSA).
- Desirable: Experience in acute malnutrition care and nutritional brigades.
- Desirable: Experience working in rural communities.
- Desirable: Previous experience with the United Nations or other international development organizations.
- Desirable: Certificate of the 20-hour breastfeeding course.
Qualifications
- Secondary education.
- Desirable: Studies towards a Bachelor's degree in Nutrition or Nursing (completion of coursework), or a technical diploma/diploma in Nursing.
