Overview
The role involves providing research, analytical, and statistical support to the Fiscal Policy and Growth and Public Sector team in Bangladesh. The purpose is to contribute to macroeconomic analysis, policy dialogue, and technical assistance for development challenges.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain and update economic databases for Bangladesh and prepare macroeconomic projections.
- Provide inputs to analytical work and reporting, including modeling, producing charts/tables, and preparing statistical/economic reports, policy notes, and briefs.
- Contribute to the Macro Poverty Outlook (MPO) and Bangladesh Development Update (BDU).
- Support Advisory Services and Analytics (ASA), Development Policy Operations, and technical assistance.
- Engage with the Government of Bangladesh, development partners, the private sector, local think tanks, and researchers.
Required Experience
- At least two years of relevant work experience in macroeconomic research or economic policy within the private sector, think tanks, international organizations, or government.
- First-hand knowledge of the Bangladeshi economy and its key economic policies, particularly in fiscal and monetary policy.
Qualifications
A Minimum of a Master’s degree in economics, economic development, or a related field from a reputable university (PhD preferred).
