Overview
The Extended-Term Consultant (ETC) will assist in the implementation of Public Private Partnerships (PPP) advisory mandates with Brazilian public sector clients, aiming to maximize the impact of IFC's intervention and contribute to sector development.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with marketing activities, developing new client contacts and project leads.
- Take the lead in preparing proposals or mandates for new projects and negotiating client proposals.
- Develop a thorough understanding of Brazil's infrastructure sectors and business environment.
- Analyze the PPP database in Brazil to generate conversion indicators and insights.
- Work on multiple mandates simultaneously with different project teams.
- Oversee less experienced staff on project teams, ensuring quality execution and client service.
- Assist in or lead the design of Terms of Reference (TORs) for specialized consultant support.
- Lead technical, social, environmental, political, and institutional assessments of advisory transactions.
- Support clients in their engagement with stakeholders.
- Monitor project risks and opportunities from kickoff to commercial close.
- Manage the execution of competitive, transparent tender processes and finalization of contractual agreements.
- Share knowledge and lessons learned about projects with the organization.
- Develop reports for Senior Management upon request.
- Perform other duties as requested by senior members of the team.
Required Experience
- At least 7 years experience in PPP advisory or business consulting.
- Deep understanding of the infrastructure business and experience in working with different infrastructure sub-sectors.
- Understanding of public-private partnerships (PPPs) and different structures for engaging private participation in infrastructure services.
- Experience in dealing with government clients, investors, and multiple stakeholders of infrastructure projects.
- Experience in successfully managing diverse project teams in multiple transactions.
Qualifications
• MBA or master's degree in social sciences (e.g. economics) or correlated programs.
