Overview
The SRH Coordinator will provide strategic, technical, and managerial leadership for IRC South Sudan’s Sexual and Reproductive Health (SRH) portfolio, overseeing implementation and scale-up of high-impact SRH interventions.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide strategic direction, leadership, and technical/management support to SRH programs.
- Lead design and scale-up of high impact SRH programming.
- Ensure SRH programming aligns with Ministry of Health, WHO, and IRC global guidance.
- Promote integrated service delivery across facility, outreach, and community platforms.
- Support strategic direction and leadership of SRH programming.
- Ensure emergency SRH interventions are guided by the MISP.
- Support development of new SRH initiatives and scale pathways.
- Oversee program planning, implementation progress, and achievement of targets.
- Coordinate grant implementation, work planning, and reporting.
- Provide oversight for SRH commodity planning, supply management, and quality service delivery.
- Provide technical oversight to program managers and field teams.
- Build capacity of clinical providers, managers, and community health workers.
- Support monitoring systems to improve data quality, reporting, and performance tracking.
- Coordinate with global SRHR technical advisors on innovative approaches.
- Serve as country focal point for the Impact at Scale SRHR initiative.
- Coordinate implementation across projects and locations.
- Lead in tracking progress against Impact at Scale milestones and support reporting.
- Facilitate technical exchange between country teams and regional/global advisors.
- Lead and support implementation research and learning related to SRHR.
- Work closely with MEAL teams to design and operationalize SRH monitoring frameworks.
- Promote and strengthen evidence generation and use of data for decision making.
- Contribute to country program and global learning agendas.
- Strengthen data quality through supportive supervision and validation exercises.
- Contribute to operational assessments, baseline/endline surveys, and quality-of-care evaluations.
- Work in coordination with key consortium partners.
- Represent IRC in national SRH, BHI and RMNCAH technical working groups.
- Develop and maintain effective working relationships with key stakeholders.
- Support national advocacy efforts.
- Engage Ministry of Health, Donor community and partners to promote scalable SRH delivery models.
- Provide technical guidance and ongoing mentorship to SRH and health program and field staff.
- Recruit, train and supervise SRH technical staff.
- Conduct annual and semi-annual performance reviews for technical staff.
Required Experience
- At least 5 years’ professional experience working for an international NGO or equivalent in a program management capacity.
- Experience working in a humanitarian setting preferred.
- Demonstrated strengths in project management, capacity building, and grant reporting.
- Experience with operational research design and implementation preferred.
- Experience working in partnership and coordination with the UN, donors, INGOs, MOH, and other stakeholders.
- Previous experience working with low-literacy and illiterate staff and beneficiaries preferred, particularly in relation to training and health promotion strategies, materials, and tool development.
- Experience in coordinating, implementing, and managing sexual reproductive health programs in emergency contexts and/or refugee settings.
- Thorough understanding of gender-based violence response protocols and service provision.
Qualifications
- Degree in Medicine or Nursing; preferably with a master’s in public health
- Demonstrated qualifications and experience in program design, monitoring and evaluation of health programs, and provision of technical assistance; experience working in community health preferred.
