Overview
The Resilience Officer will manage resilience programmes, including agri-business and infrastructure, and oversee the implementation of the Guinea Commercial Agriculture Development project. The role involves providing oversight and leadership for planning, coordination, implementation, integration, monitoring, reporting, and learning for resilience programmes.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate and manage all resilience activities and represent WFP Guinea in external meetings and events.
- Provide guidance and support to the Resilience Unit and Sub Office/Antenna Office colleagues.
- Maintain an up-to-date resilience activities implementation and expenditure plan, monitor and guide the progress of all resilience activities.
- Ensure effective and efficient resilience project implementation in coordination with CO Units, SOs, WACARO, HQ, and external stakeholders.
- Ensure coordination and organization of incoming missions including field visits, meetings with government counterparts, timely back-to-office reporting, and follow-up on missions.
- Provide inputs, suggestions, and analysis on the implementation and impact of resilience activities for management decision-making.
- Prepare briefing notes, presentation materials, and other documents to support informed decision-making by CO management and to update donors and other stakeholders.
- Contribute to the development of resilience programme implementation strategic and advocacy documents.
- Work with the Partnership and other Units to secure funding for new initiatives and/or extension of ongoing projects, and develop funding proposals for potential donors.
- Ensure regular updates on the implementation of all resilience activities to CO management, including in writing.
- Manage donor contributions and ensure accountability to donors.
- Ensure donor compliance, including visibility, quality, and timely reporting requirements.
- Ensure gender considerations are incorporated in all resilience activities.
- Alert CO management to challenges at an early stage.
- Perform any other duties as required by WFP Guinea.
Required Experience
- 3 years of relevant experience
- Strong proven experience in resilience activities
- Proven experience in team management
- Strong capacity in reporting and engagement with stakeholders
Qualifications
Master's degree in Social Sciences, Economics, Agriculture, Development Economics, or any other related field.
