Overview
The E T Consultant will serve as the Finance Portfolio’s internal Lean-Agile coach, partnering with leadership and teams to embed SAFe values, principles, and practices. The role aims to progressively assume responsibilities currently held by external coaches and act as a liaison to the ITS Transformation Team and Lean Agile Center of Excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Coach ITSFI Director and Management Team on Lean-Agile leadership and decision rights.
- Coach the Value Management Office (VMO) on Lean Portfolio Management, including Strategic Themes, Vision, Roadmap, Epic prioritization, and Stakeholder engagement.
- Support participatory budgeting, Lean Governance, and flow-based funding decisions.
- Provide independent perspective on transformation risks and trade-offs.
- Serve as primary SPC-level coach for RTEs, STEs, Solution/Product Managers, POs, Scrum Masters, and Architects.
- Coach PI Planning preparation, facilitation, and ART events.
- Train RTEs to coach Agile Teams on iteration or flow-based execution.
- Support new ART launches.
- Support teams in using enterprise delivery tools like Azure DevOps.
- Coach interpretation of flow metrics.
- Coach Inverse Conway moves.
- Drive maintenance of Agile Team Charters and Solution Train/ART Canvases.
- Facilitate retrospectives, learning sessions, and improvement workshops.
- Serve as a liaison to the Transformation Office and the ITS Lean Agile Center of Excellence.
- Help translate Agile frameworks into mission-oriented narratives.
- Support teams and business partners in understanding how Agile adoption strengthens the institution’s ability to deliver outcomes.
- Foster open dialogue with stakeholders.
Required Experience
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant professional experience.
- 5–10 years of direct SAFe experience at scale.
- Financial institution experience strongly preferred.
- Required: SAFe Practice Consultant (SPC); Advanced SPC (ASPC); or SPC Trainer (SPCT) preferred.
- Preferred additional certifications: SAFe Release Train Engineer (RTE), SAFe Agile Product Manager (APM), SAFe Lean Portfolio Management (LPM), Scrum, Kanban.
- Working knowledge of Azure DevOps at Team and ART levels.
- Strong facilitation, coaching, and executive communication skills; SAFe Kanban Systems and flow metrics fluency.
Qualifications
• Master’s degree or equivalent, and a minimum of 5 years of relevant professional experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
