Overview

The Human Resources Associate G6 applies specialized knowledge of Human Resources policies, procedures, and systems to provide effective HR support, ensuring compliance with organizational rules while delivering a high standard of client service. The role requires strong administrative, coordination, and communication skills, the ability to manage sensitive information with discretion, and proven capacity to support recruitment, onboarding, and staff lifecycle processes in a diverse and fast‑paced environment.


Key Responsibilities
  • Provide assistance on a wide range of complex HR queries and follow up actions.
  • Allocate responsibilities and support on-the-job learning and development of junior support staff.
  • Identify evolving needs of the organisation and recommend changes in HR processes and procedures.
  • Analyse and respond to various internal and external queries.
  • Review and compile a variety of data on staff recruitment and selection, contractual conditions, entitlements, performance and training requirements, workforce, etc.
  • Support activities in the areas of work allocated by the professional officer.
  • Support and deliver on boarding for new staff joining WFP.
  • Prepare a range of complex HR documentation required for the specific area of work.
  • Use HR management systems for reviewing, entering and updating a variety of HR data.
  • Co-ordinate the maintenance of confidential personnel records, HR databases and archives.
  • Monitor staff deployment and handle related administrative actions including preparation of reports.
  • Other related duties as assigned.
  • Support the Unit's emergency response activities.
  • Deploy to affected countries to assist with Unit operations as required.
  • Work beyond regular working hours to support emergency response efforts.
Required Experience
  • Demonstrated experience applying HR Services standards, policies, and procedures across a range of international and humanitarian contexts, with the ability to interpret and apply policies to non‑routine or moderately complex HR cases.
  • Proven experience delivering HR‑related training, briefings, or onboarding to new staff members, and serving as a reliable point of contact for ad‑hoc HR queries, ensuring accurate and consistent advice.
  • Experience providing HR guidance and advice to employees and supervisors on a broad range of HR matters (e.g. contracts, entitlements, performance management, recruitment, capacity building), ensuring alignment with established HR policies, procedures, and regulatory frameworks.
  • Minimum of six (6) years of progressively responsible experience in Human Resources, administration, or a related functional area.
Qualifications
  • Completion of secondary school education.
  • A post-secondary certificate in the related functional area.
