Overview
Online Volunteers are sought to support UNDSS through social media monitoring and analysis, providing regular analysis of the situation in the Region to ensure safety and security.
Key Responsibilities
- Produce daily media monitoring reports focusing on the Islamic Republic of Iran, covering geopolitical events, security incidents, and safety-related news.
- Submit reports by 12 PM GMT+3:30 from Monday to Friday.
- Participate in a weekly online meeting with the supervisor.
- Utilize local open-media sources, including newspapers, online articles, and other publications.
- Monitor social media channels in both English and Farsi.
- Translate information in Farsi into English.
- Analyze collected information and provide recommendations.
Required Experience
- Prior experience in safety and security area is required.
- Familiarity with the geopolitical landscape, culture, and current events of the Region is required.
- Familiarity with humanitarian response, emergency preparedness, crisis/emergency relief management, international relations or other related areas will be considered an advantage.
- Knowledge of political dynamics and international relationship is desirable.
- Previous communication and social media monitoring experience is considered an asset.
