Overview

Support the Local2030 Coalition Secretariat in governance and programme management, focusing on engagement with the Steering Committee and UN Directors Group.


Key Responsibilities
  • Support the facilitation of knowledge exchange with key stakeholders by creating and maintaining updated information in online shared spaces.
  • Support the organization of meetings, events, and workshops, including scheduling, attending, and preparing documents.
  • Support team engagement in high-level meetings, events and partnership opportunities.
  • Support in the dissemination of knowledge, including drafting key messages and communications materials.
  • Support the documentation of outcomes from meetings and events.
  • Support the Coalition’s reporting activities, including the preparation of key publications.
Required Experience

Applicants to the UN Internship Programme are not required to have professional work experience. However, a field of study that is closely related to the type of internship that you are applying for is required.

Qualifications
  • Be enrolled in a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher), OR
  • Be enrolled in the final academic year of a first university degree program (minimum Bachelor's level or equivalent), OR
  • Have graduated with Bachelor's degree, Masters, PhD or equivalent.
  • Be computer literate in standard software applications (Microsoft Office Suite).
  • Have demonstrated a keen interest in the work of the United Nations and have a personal commitment to the ideals of the Charter.
  • Have a demonstrated ability to successfully interact with individuals of different cultural backgrounds and beliefs.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience drafting minutes, summaries, and/or other actionable documents.
  • Understanding of principles of outreach, partnerships building, stakeholder engagement, and event management.
  • Strong Microsoft PowerPoint skills, including the ability to create professional presentations and visual materials, are required.
  • Experience with design tools such as Canva is desirable.

Languages Required
Fluency in oral and written English and Spanish is required.
Languages Preferred
Knowledge of another UN language is desirable.

Remuneration
Interns are not financially remunerated by the United Nations. Costs and arrangements for travel, visas, accommodation and living expenses are the responsibility of interns or their sponsoring institutions.
