Overview
To advise the Military Ombudsman of Ukraine on matters concerning work with families of missing in action and prisoners of war military personnel and the protection of their rights and social guarantees.
Key Responsibilities
- Advising Military Ombudsman on matters concerning work with families of MIA and POW military personnel and protection of their rights and social guarantees.
- Consulting families of MIA and POW military personnel, as required.
- Developing inputs to normative acts regarding social protection of military personnel and members of their families.
- Developing standard operating procedures for working with the families of MIA and POW military personnel for the Office of the Military Ombudsman of Ukraine.
- Organizing and participate in meetings between families of MIA and POW military personnel and military units.
- Reviewing and draft responses to claims submitted by the families of MIA and POW military personnel.
- Developing and delivering training sessions for military units and conscription centres regarding process and activities of search for MIA and POW military personnel and communication with their families.
- Consulting families of POW and MIA military personnel regarding claims for protection of their rights.
- Participating in meetings, conferences as required.
- Regularly traveling to military units to deliver adaptation courses, conduct investigations, monitor upholding of military personnel rights.
Required Experience
- A minimum of 5 years of working experience in law consulting, litigation or lawmaking.
- A minimum of 2 years of working experience in the area of military rights protection.
- Working experience in the area of protection of rights of prisoners of war, missing in action military personnel and their families will be an asset.
Qualifications
• First-level university degree in Law or Public Policy.
