Overview
The Officer, Enablement and Logistics Policy provides political-military advice on Alliance enablement and logistics policies and planning, supporting NATO and Allied consultations. The incumbent will also deputise the Head of Section as appropriate.
Key Responsibilities
- Contribute to the development and ensure coherence of the Alliance’s political and military approach to key defence and security policy issues related to enablement and logistics.
- Prepare studies, reports and conceptual and analytical papers addressing enablement and logistics issues, policies, plans and their interaction with defence policy and planning at the strategic level.
- Facilitate the implementation of high-level political and military guidance in the logistics domain across the NATO enterprise.
- Manage, coordinate and monitor the implementation and compliance of logistics guidance.
- Track and ensure appropriate follow-up to decisions made by the North Atlantic Council and relevant Committees.
- Drive the enablement and logistics agenda forward through the Logistics Committee.
- Coordinate political-military activities in support of Allied and senior NATO stakeholders.
- Contribute to the work of other senior NATO committees as appropriate.
- Guide and mentor colleagues and stakeholders, as appropriate.
- Perform any other related duty as assigned.
Required Experience
- At least 5 years of relevant professional experience in a civil-military environment.
- Experience in coordinating, developing and analysing defence, policies, plans and concepts, including those related to logistics or related subjects.
- Demonstrate good understanding of the Alliance’s key defence and security policy issues and of its political and military consultative processes.
Qualifications
University degree in a relevant field for the post.
