Overview
This internship is with the United Nations Resident Coordinator Office (RCO) in San Salvador, El Salvador, supporting inclusive participation and equal access to professional development opportunities for a young student with a physical disability. The intern will contribute to key processes supporting interagency coordination, strategic planning, and financing for development.
Key Responsibilities
- Contribute to the organization and systematization of interagency and multi-stakeholder meetings, promoting coherence and joint action across UN entities.
- Assist in the coordination and follow-up of interagency initiatives aligned with the UN Cooperation Framework and national development priorities.
- Support research and the development of knowledge products and tools related to innovative financing, including concept notes, briefs, and bulletins.
- Assist in the consultation processes for strategic planning exercises, including the Country Analysis, by compiling and organizing relevant inputs.
- Contribute to the design and implementation of resource mobilization strategies, including support to pooled funding mechanisms.
Required Experience
Applicants to the UN Internship Program are not required to have professional work experience. However, a field of study that is closely related to the type of internship that you are applying for is required.
Qualifications
- Applicants must be enrolled in, or have completed, the final academic year of a first university degree program (minimum Bachelor’s degree or equivalent) at the time of application.
- Fields of study may include, but are not limited to: International Relations, Public Administration, Political Science, Development Studies, Economics, Social Sciences, or other related disciplines aligned with the work of the United Nations.
