Overview

The Intern - Health Assessment Programmes will assist in the Migration Health Assessments work at IOM Headquarters and the Manila Global Shared Services Centre.


Key Responsibilities
  • Contribute to knowledge management initiatives by supporting the updating and maintenance of the Global HAP SharePoint.
  • Assist the team in developing information sheets for internal and external dissemination.
  • Support tasks related to the timely distribution of holograms to Country Offices and track inventory levels.
  • Assist with the compilation and coordination of HAP-related inputs for meeting preparation and reporting.
  • Support quality initiatives in HAP and assist with the coordination and delivery of webinars and training activities.
  • Provide logistical and administrative support for other meetings and events.
Required Experience

Experience working on health and migration issues is an advantage; experience working with health data is desirable; Demonstrated ability to write clear and concisely, proven skills in writing summary documents and editing reports, project documents and proposals, is desirable; Experience in the usage of office software packages (MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook etc.), including SharePoint.

Qualifications

Be enrolled in a Master's degree or higher in Public or Global Health, Epidemiology, Health Sciences or a related field from an accredited academic institution; or, Have graduated with a university degree in Public or Global Health, Epidemiology, Health Sciences or a related field, and if selected, must commence the internship within one year of graduation.

For all applicants, fluency in English is required (oral and written).
Languages Preferred
Working knowledge of another official UN language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian, and Spanish) is an advantage.

Remuneration
Depending on experience and location, IOM provides a small monthly stipend to help offset costs. IOM will also provide travel arrangements and will cover visa-related costs.
