Overview

This internship provides technical and administrative support to the Immigration and Border Governance (IBG) Unit in Egypt, focusing on border management authorities, maritime security, border control, and integrated border management capacities.


Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in the implementation of assessments, capacity building, and technical assistance activities, including training preparation and delivery.
  • Provide information on the Programme and draft minutes of meetings, reports, and other written materials.
  • Liaise with other IOM staff on administrative, financial, logistics, and operational matters.
  • Contribute to the development and standardization of templates for reports, questionnaires, surveys, and other documents.
  • Perform other assigned duties.
Required Experience

Demonstrated experience in note-taking and drafting meeting minutes; Proven experience in organizing workshops, training sessions, and capacity-building activities; Experience in preparing official correspondence; Demonstrated experience in drafting Terms of Reference (ToRs), concept notes, and analytical or technical reports.

Qualifications

Enrolled in the final academic year of a first university degree (bachelor’s level or equivalent) in Political science, Human Rights, or a related field; Enrolled in a graduate school program (second university degree or equivalent, or higher) in Political science, or a related field; or, Recent graduate with a degree in Human Rights, or a related field (internship must commence within one year of graduation).

Fluency in English is required (oral and written).
Languages Preferred
Working knowledge of Arabic is an advantage.

Remuneration
Depending on experience and location, IOM provides a small monthly stipend to help offset costs. IOM will also provide travel arrangements and will cover visa-related costs.
