Overview

The Operations Specialist will provide programme management support, stakeholder coordination, and inter-agency collaboration, as well as knowledge and document management.


Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in tracking programme results against targets and compile data for reports.
  • Prepare written summaries of meetings and follow up on action items.
  • Support coordination and communication with UN, international organizations, donors, and governments.
  • Support preparation for coordination meetings, including drafting materials and recording notes.
  • Support design, coordination, and dissemination of public information products.
  • Support preparations for official meetings, events, briefings, and field visits.
  • Maintain records of programme files and other necessary programme documents.
  • Contribute to the implementation of standards, tools, and templates for programme management.
  • Contribute to recording and sharing best practices and lessons learned.
  • Contribute to the management and upkeep of risk management and issue management logs.
Required Experience
  • 3 years Donor priorities . Nationality Candidate must be a national of a country other than the country of assignment. Additional eligibility criteria This assignment is funded by the Government of Korea and therefore specific criteria apply:
  • - Candidates must be Korean nationals.
  • - Candidates must be 27 years of age at the time of application.
  • - Candidates who have already served as UN Volunteer Specialist funded by the Government of Korea are not eligible to apply (former UN University and UN Youth Volunteers are eligible).
  • - Serving UN Volunteers will not be considered for other UN Volunteer assignments until they reach three (3) months before the end of contract date of their current UN Volunteer assignment.
  • - Candidates may apply to a maximum of three assignments and indicate the order of preference in the ‘Additional remarks’ field when filling in the application form.
  • - Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted. The selection will be done by the UN Host Entity at the level of the country of assignment.
  • Relevant experience 3 years
  • ● Programme/project development, support, or management, in either public or private sector organizations.
  • ● Experience in coordination, partnership, donor reporting, managing donor agreements, or preparing project proposals is desired.
  • ● Experience in monitoring and evaluation of project implementation is desired.
Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Public Policy, Public Administration, Business Administration, International Affairs/Relations or other relevant areas.

Remuneration
Entry lump sum: USD 3500 Relocation costs: Lump sum provided based on route for travel to the duty station Volunteer living allowance: USD 2427.5 Learning and training: Access to UNV's learning and career development resources Annual leave: 2.5 days per month Insurance: Comprehensive coverage for health, life and malicious acts for the UN Volunteer and health insurance coverage for up to 3 eligible dependents. Home visit: May apply depending on duty station and length of service. Family allowance: $250 per month for one dependent. $450 per month for two or more dependents Travel for dependants: Subject to approval. Exit lump sum (paid on successful completion of assignment): $225 for each month served, paid on completion of contract
