Overview
The Assistant Procurement role supports the implementation of operational strategies and procurement processes for country office projects, UN agencies, and other entities, focusing on achieving results and ensuring compliance with UN and UNDP rules.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the implementation of operational strategies focused on achieving results.
- Provide contributions to internal procurement operational processes and standard operating procedures.
- Support the conduct of procurement processes for country office projects, NIM/DIM, and other UN agencies.
- Support the preparation of procurement plans and monitor their implementation.
- Support the organization of procurement processes, including preparation and conduct of tenders, receipt and evaluation of offers, and negotiation.
- Support the preparation of purchase orders and contracts, and vendor creation.
- Support submissions to Contract Committees (CAP, RACP, and ACP).
- Support the establishment of the internal control system for purchase orders.
- Support reporting on procurement.
- Support the development of LTAs for OMT and the country office.
- Support the implementation of joint procurement processes for UN agencies.
- Support the implementation of the procurement strategy.
- Participate in the development and implementation of supplier selection and evaluation strategies.
- Participate in market studies for common goods and services.
- Participate in the development and implementation of cost-saving strategies.
- Support the facilitation of knowledge acquisition and sharing within the country office.
- Participate in training for operations/project staff on Procurement.
- Support the synthesis of lessons learned and best practices in procurement.
- Contribute to Procurement knowledge networks.
Required Experience
1 month required experience. First professional experience in procurement, supply chain, or administration is desired. Experience in managing the acquisition processes of goods and services within national or international organizations is an asset. Good knowledge of procurement procedures, vendor management, preparation of RFQs, purchase orders, and contract follow-up. Experience in using integrated management systems (ERP) and electronic procurement platforms.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in procurement, logistics, or supply chain.
