Overview
The Clean Energy Transition Programme Officer will coordinate the implementation of the Clean Energy Transitions Programme (CETP) and other projects with Middle East and North Africa counterparts. The role involves programme management, analysis, communication, and liaison activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Organise activities under the desk, setting up clear programme plans for successful delivery of outputs and physical events in the Middle East and North Africa.
- Continuously monitor political and macroeconomic developments impacting the energy sector in the region.
- Conduct analysis and prepare briefings for IEA management and IEA member countries, particularly CETP donors.
- Communicate bilateral and regional outputs of the programme, producing content for the IEA website, regional media outlets, and social media.
- Liaise and conduct stakeholder outreach with counterparts in partner countries and key international organisations on all existing workstreams of the Middle East and North Africa Programme.
- Liaise with relevant country governments providing funding to the CETP for activities in the Middle East and North Africa.
Required Experience
Three to five years’ experience in energy-related project management and liaison activities in a public or private organisation, a research centre and/or an international organisation. Experience working with/in the Middle-East and North Africa.
Qualifications
An advanced university degree in engineering, energy economics, international relations or a related field.
