Overview
The Senior Technician (Digital Communication Services) role involves transforming IT services to support NATO’s Digital Endeavour, enabling end-to-end CIS services through installation, operation, maintenance, and support of CIS capabilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Follows standard approaches to create new designs for simple systems or system components.
- Identifies and resolves minor design issues.
- Specifies technical configurations and components for networks.
- Defines software modules for integration builds and produces build definitions.
- Accepts completed software modules meeting defined criteria.
- Produces software builds from source code.
- Carries out network maintenance tasks and operational configuration of network components.
- Establishes and diagnoses network problems/faults.
- Sets up and manages AV infrastructure for digital meetings and events, including streaming and recording.
- Writes, plans, and executes AV implementation plans.
Required Experience
- 2 years post-related experience with higher vocational training in a relevant discipline.
- 4 years post-related experience with a secondary educational qualification.
- At least 2 years hands-on experience with designing, implementing, and maintaining core network architecture for large organizations.
- Experience configuring, troubleshooting, and optimizing routers, switches, firewalls, and other hardware/software networking elements.
Qualifications
Higher vocational training in a relevant discipline or a secondary educational qualification.
