Overview
The Project Analyst will provide support to the financial and administrative management of the project, as well as assist the Project Manager with overall project management. The role also involves supporting other GEF Projects as and when required.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure effective project planning and implementation.
- Compile and summarize information and data for project work plans and budgets.
- Provide comprehensive support in all aspects of project implementation.
- Ensure quality of delivery by consultants, beneficiaries, and contracted companies.
- Ensure compliance of project business processes with UNDP policies.
- Provide guidance to project staff on business processes and procedures.
- Support and advise on mainstreaming gender equality in project implementation.
- Provide administrative and logistical advice for project delivery.
- Ensure partnerships and resource mobilization.
- Establish and maintain contacts with relevant UN Agencies, government institutions, NGOs, and other stakeholders.
- Provide support in updating databases of public and development partners.
- Ensure regular communication and coordination with partners and stakeholders.
- Ensure creation of high quality information and visibility of project activities.
- Undertake horizon scanning and explore opportunities for resource mobilization.
- Provide active support to the effective monitoring, evaluation, and reporting on project progress.
- Collect, analyze and present information for monitoring and evaluation.
- Identify gaps in implementation and provide support in bridging those gaps.
- Assist in the organization of field visits, missions, workshops, and conferences.
- Assist in implementation of effective risk management for the project.
- Support monitoring of previously identified and emerging risks.
- Regularly monitor expenditures and commitments against the project budget.
- Prepare and consolidate required project reports.
- Ensure knowledge building, knowledge sharing and capacity building relevant to the project.
- Participate in training and organize briefings on internal procedures.
- Provide support to other capacity building activities.
- Provide advice and support in the dissemination and sharing of relevant data and lessons learned.
- Keep pulse on emerging best practices nationally, regionally, and internationally.
- Make sound contributions to knowledge networks and communities of practice.
- Support compiling and systematizing project knowledge, products and tools.
Required Experience
A minimum of 2 years (with master’s degree) or 4 years (with bachelor’s degree) of progressively responsible administrative or project experience is required.
Qualifications
Advanced university degree (master's degree or equivalent) in Business Administration, Public Administration, Economics, Political Sciences, Social Sciences, or related field is required. Or A first-level university degree (bachelor’s degree) in the areas stated above, in combination with an additional two years of qualifying experience will be given due consideration in lieu of the advanced university degree.
