Overview

This internship focuses on implementing communication strategies to enhance the visibility and effectiveness of UN Volunteer learning activities. The role involves creating communication materials, disseminating information, and managing online communication channels.


Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate to execute communication strategies for UN Volunteer learning activities.
  • Create and maintain communication materials, including graphics and presentations.
  • Update content on UNV learning opportunities.
  • Organize outreach initiatives to inform stakeholders about UNV learning opportunities.
  • Maintain information on UNV eCampus.
  • Implement tracking mechanisms to monitor communication efforts and prepare reports.
  • Work with the Capacity Development Team and other sections within UNV.
  • Engage with stakeholders, partners, and the UNV volunteer community.
  • Manage and coordinate communication through official WhatsApp channels and social media platforms.
  • Develop, schedule, and monitor social media posts and WhatsApp broadcasts.
  • Analyze engagement metrics from social media and WhatsApp communications.
Required Experience

Experience in one or more of the following: creating and disseminating communication materials, managing social media accounts, supporting communication campaigns, graphic design and multimedia content creation using design software (Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, Illustrator, or InDesign), organizing events, workshops, or webinars, writing for various platforms (blogs, newsletters, articles), engaging with audiences, creating content calendars, and monitoring social media analytics.

Qualifications

Applicants must be enrolled in a postgraduate degree programme, or the final academic year of a first university degree programme, or have recently graduated with a university degree and start the internship within one year of graduation, or be enrolled in a postgraduate professional traineeship program and undertake the internship as part of this program. Desired: Degree in Communications, Marketing, Journalism, International Relations, International Development, or another related field.

Languages Required
Proficiency in English, with the ability to communicate effectively in both written and spoken forms, is required.
Languages Preferred
Knowledge of one/more of the other five official languages of the UN (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian and Spanish) is very desirable.

Remuneration
Intern will be given monthly stipend in accordance with the provisions of the UNDP Internship policy. Interns will be entitled to monthly stipend based on existing UNDP rate.
